We drop Laurel’s daughters off at and take the famous coastal highway south. Laurel is a friend and a student of shamanism. Weeks before, when planning this day, we talked of for hunting stones at one of three places: on a nearby beach, on the coastal highway, and at some property that her neighbor knew about. At the time, the idea of the coastal highway had pulled at me, but since things sometimes evolve differently than I expect, all had been left open. It was understood that we would be using guidance and feeling our way. The previous evening, I had located a point on Google Earth that called to me. I “saw” us finding stones there. That morning, Laurel had told me that she had received the understanding that we were to go down the coastal highway, and that we were to do earth energy work there.
As we enter the intense energy that pervades the dramatic coastal cliff area, I locate the point I had identified for finding stones on Laurel’s dashboard GPS map. When we reach that point, Laurel feels we should continue further, so we drive on. We reach the world-famous Elysan Foundation, which has been a force in the Human Potential Movement for nearly 50 years. We drive in and ask if there is any way we can see the place, but are told we must be signed up for a workshop, seminar, or at least a massage to use the grounds. So we continue driving south.
After a time, Laurel senses that we’ve gone far enough, that there is something further ahead for her to see or do, but not today. So we turn around. I locate a point on the GPS where I sense we should stop. Laurel comments that my new point must be somewhere near Elysan. As we approach the point, I remember that Kalia has told me to look for signs in nature. So I tell Laurel to look for something unusual – like a raven or a rainbow. We reach the point and there is a pull-out on the ocean side of the road, so I ask Laurel to pull over. I get out of the car and I sense that I’m to move to my left and closer to the cliffs. That’s when I see it. There is a large white X nailed to the ground. I think “They’re making it easy for me again.” I walk up a short incline opposite the X and I’m standing on the cliff overlooking the ocean below. This is obviously where we are to do our earth energy work. I tell Laurel that this is it, and it’s a lesson to me that the signs don’t always have to be from the natural world. Clearly a man-made X will do.
Laurel brings her mesa to the spot and uses her tiny rattle to call in the 6 directions. I’m connected to the Deva of the Misselthwaite Project and my Nature Spirit and White Brotherhood guides. I connect to Misselthwaite points: Jolly Point, Lake Bountiful, Lake Serene, Rumbling Point, Bird Heaven, Eagle Lake and the additional points at the Destiny Mountains and Emerald Lake. I connect to Utopia and I’m laughing as I send love and greetings there. I also connect to Mt. Hester, Mt. Harmony, and Mt. Independence. Once I have all these connections open and connected to my current position, I gather them all in a ball and throw the ball to Sinuous Mound, connecting them there. I ask and intend that all these connections stabilize this place and that this place be strongly connected to the global grid. Finally, Laurel closes the directions, and it is done. I use my flower essences to balance and stabilize our process. Waves of happiness and satisfaction wash over us. We feel our work to be rightly completed and it is good.
Back in the car, we begin driving northward. It turns out that our vortex is only 500 to 600 feet from the entrance to Elysan. We had thought that the work was not only for this area of coastal cliffs, but was specifically intended to protect and stabilize the Elysan Foundation. When we see how close the vortex is, this conclusion seems even more probable.
As we drive northward, I again sense and locate on the GPS the spot I had identified the night before on Google Earth. As the car reaches that place, there is a white car backing up slowly across the road at a 90 degree angle to us. We slow down, and I feel that this is a sign that we are to stop here. Laurel drives into a pull out on the right, and we get out and explore, but the energy is all wrong. In the meantime, the white car has turned down a narrow road on the other side of the highway. So Laurel says we need to follow that car. We do so and find that we are on a road to a place called Hidden Beach.
At the beach, we pay the day-use fee, park and walk onto the beach and up to a high vantage point above the water and boulders below. We eat our lunch, enjoying the magnificent view. As we descend, we look for stones. I select a gnome-like one and one that is heart-shaped with a piece chipped out of it – a broken heart, and Laurel also finds stones that are right for her. As we leave the beach, fog is beginning to roll in. The return drive is stunningly beautiful and we drive it feeling gratitude for this day.
