We drive all day and spend the night in a motel. The next morning, we drive to the Towering Trees. We take our time walking a one mile loop through the majestic ancient trees. Sky and I are enthralled with the deep serenity and quiet of this timeless place.
On leaving, we drive to nearby day use site on the beach. While using the restroom at the nearby campground, we run into a huge male elk. He makes a call that reminds us of sounds we heard from the other side of Eagle Lake during our night there. We’d been wondering what animals had made that wild indefinable sound. Later we see the elk standing next to the road scratching his huge antler on a tree trunk.
We drive through Jinks City on our way to another park. The town is depressed, the energy low and heavy. We take the back way into the park. We only go a short distance before pulling over. Sky wants to play her bowl and direct the energy toward the town of Jinks City. I sit in the car and hold the space while she plays. Later she tells me that she asked the trees to send the energy to the town through their root systems and to direct it wherever it needs to go. We continue driving down a narrow road framed by magnificent trees. I realize that this is one of the visions I saw when Sky played her bowl near the top of Mt. Devi the first day of our trip.
We walk another ½ mile loop through the towering trees, except that we somehow veer off the trail, so we walk more than ½ a mile. That night there is rain so we stay at a motel near the mouth of the Rascal River.
